Our Story
Blocana was founded in 2024 by a team of blockchain engineers and researchers who had experienced firsthand the limitations of existing blockchain platforms. While working on various decentralized applications, they encountered recurring issues with scalability, developer experience, and security.
Frustrated by these limitations, they set out to build a new kind of blockchain platform—one that would prioritize developer experience without compromising on decentralization or security. They started by rethinking core blockchain components from first principles, applying lessons learned from years of working with existing platforms.
The team raised initial funding in late 2024 and began development of the core platform. By early 2025, they had completed the first implementation of Blocana's novel consensus mechanism and transaction processing system. The project quickly attracted attention from developers and investors who recognized the potential of Blocana's approach.
Today, Blocana is a growing team of engineers, researchers, and community builders working together to create the next generation of blockchain infrastructure. We're building in public, collaborating with the community, and constantly iterating based on feedback from early adopters and partners.
