BlocanaCommunity Guidelines

Community Guidelines

Building a positive, inclusive, and productive blockchain community through shared values and clear expectations.

Core Principles

Respect & Inclusivity

We value diverse perspectives and treat each community member with respect. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behavior has no place in our community.

Collaboration & Support

We believe in the power of collaboration. Share knowledge, support other members, and contribute positively to community initiatives and discussions.

Transparency & Integrity

We value honesty and transparency in all communications. Community members are expected to act with integrity and maintain ethical standards.

Communication Guidelines

Be Constructive

Focus on providing constructive feedback and contributing positively to discussions. Critique ideas, not people, and offer solutions rather than just pointing out problems.

Be Respectful

Use inclusive language and treat all community members with respect, regardless of their background, experience level, or viewpoints. Harassment, hate speech, and personal attacks are not tolerated.

Be Clear & Concise

Communicate clearly and concisely. When asking questions, provide relevant information and context to help others understand your query.

Moderation Guidelines

How We Moderate

Education First Approach

Our moderation team prioritizes education over punitive measures. We'll help guide members to follow guidelines and understand any missteps.

Reporting System

Community members can report content that violates our guidelines. All reports are reviewed promptly and handled confidentially.

Graduated Response

We use a graduated response system for guideline violations, starting with warnings and progressing to temporary or permanent restrictions only for serious or repeated violations.

Appeals Process

We provide a fair appeals process for moderation decisions. Community members can request a review if they believe a decision was made in error.

Moderation Actions

Warning

A formal notice that explains the guideline violation and how to avoid similar issues in the future. Typically used for first-time or minor violations.

Content Removal

Removal of content that violates our community guidelines. The author will be notified with an explanation of the removal.

Temporary Restriction

Temporary limitations on community participation, ranging from 24 hours to 30 days, depending on the severity and recurrence of violations.

Permanent Restriction

Reserved for the most severe violations or a pattern of repeated violations despite previous interventions. Subject to appeal after 90 days.

Community Governance

Guideline Evolution

Our community guidelines are not static. They evolve based on community feedback, emerging challenges, and the changing blockchain landscape.

We conduct regular reviews of our guidelines and welcome community input on how they can be improved to better serve our diverse and growing community.

Community Input

We believe in community-driven governance. Community members can propose amendments to our guidelines through our formal feedback process.
